So here we go again. Friday night after going to the Gap, I raided the bulk herb section at Harvest Co-op. I got a whole bunch of different stuff, most of which I used that evening to make two different tea blends for ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
tisana (finally). One is a fruity herbal blend based on hibiscus and red clover, with the addition of citrus peel, spearmint, and just a hint of clove. The other is a spiced Assam black tea, fairly heavy on the cardamom and very, very fragrant. I taste-tested them both, and I enjoyed them very much. I hope she does, too.
Saturday was my recital. I had a whole cheering section, even though my family and two good friends couldn't make it.aelisdeliria and dolphindream were the first two I spotted. Then I saw ravenstorm (why didn't I notice him first??) and cairpre26. Found Jason S. after that, and then tisana came in, with mizdarkgirl and deadwinter in tow. I hadn't met those two before, and am glad I got the chance to. Good people. mizdarkgirl is now convinced that I am not, in fact, Korean. deadwinter turned out to be a Pratchett fan too, and we had to explain the precise science of reverse phrenology to the uninitiated.
The recital was beautiful. As I said to Jason afterwards, every woman who got up to dance was the most beautiful woman in the world, at least while she was onstage. Younger or older, big and curvy or slender and willowy, dark, light, in-between: they were all gorgeous. And the dances were phenomenal. We were treated to a double sword dance, several breathtaking veil pieces, and some kick-ass drum solos. I danced in the third part of the show. My group piece came first, and I think we all did a good job from what I could tell. My solo was a few numbers later. I didn't forget anything, and I think I did a pretty good job of getting back to center stage after leaving it to run around a bit. My veil never tangled, and I didn't drop it. How good it looked is another thing entirely, and I will find that out when I get the DVD.pierceheart, you will be getting a copy as soon as I get them! I also have some other amusing things for you that I will send along with it.
After the recital it was time for my date with Jason. We stopped at the grocery store first to pick up a few things, and then went back to his place to make dinner. Dinner was blackened chicken, pesto, and red onion pizza, and very, very tasty. We drank Riesling with it. He has a nice little apartment in Quincy, with a balcony and an actual backyard! After dinner, eventually, we watched Intolerable Cruelty on "On-Demand". Funny movie. Not the best of what the Coen brothers have done, but a good laugh nonetheless. We had a really good time.
Sunday, I managed to get a spot of cleaning done in my room, throwing out stuff I didn't need and putting a few things back in their correct places. It still needs more work, but it's a start. Then I went to meet Mike over at NESOP, where he goes to school. We walked over to the Fenway theater and saw Van Helsing, which I didn't get to see on Friday. Fun movie! I will be happy to see it again when girls' night out is rescheduled.
So that was my weekend. Most enjoyable.
