Money and jobs
Feb. 28th, 2006 02:34 pmJust filed my tax return online, using the free filing option through H&R Block. Looks like I'll be getting a tasty chunk of change this year! Yay!!! I can use it. :) They *did* charge $15 for filing my state return, but that's not too bad: saves me time and effort. Plus I think it would have cost me a few bucks to mail it certified or registered with delivery confirmation or whatever anyway. Not as much, true, but the convenience makes up for it.
So...I forget if I already mentioned this or not, but my former coworker A, has a friend who works in HR at WGBH. Said friend is overworked as hell, but loves working there. They are looking for someone to help her out. I gave my resume to A, who gave it to her friend. Now it's in the hands of a woman from Boston Networking Group, who works with WGBH and other companies on staffing. That woman called me at 8am today (UGH), and I am going to be meeting with her tomorrow afternoon about all this. Yay!
Only bad news: the temp assignment I was expecting fell through. So I may well not be working at all this week. I'm going to keep calling in every day to pester people into finding stuff for me. Oy.
Anyway, at least I got laundry, grocery shopping, and my tax return done! Next steps: apply for jobs, clean up, and maybe get some bloody exercise.
pierceheart accused me of bouncing this morning...I think that means I need to move around more.
