Oct. 9th, 2006 10:27 pmDamn, this was one amazing weekend, and I don't think I have time to really describe it in full.
Left for Maryland Friday night. Got in VERY late. Crashed. Saturday morning got dressed and went to the Maryland RenFest for
ayla_3388 and T's wedding. It was like a Four Quarters Farm reunion. All my friends (or many of them) from Stones Rising were there, including
elissa_carey, who I hadn't seen since summer of '05. It was AWESOME. The bride and groom looked fabulous, and the ceremony was brief but sweet, and I teared up a bit. Then we spent the rest of the day hanging out at the RenFest. That was a blast in spite of the craptastic weather. Good thing I had my shawl, for which I got many compliments and a very insistent request for a commission (and you'll get one,
bipaganfreak). Near the end of the day we left for the home of a friend of the newlyweds, to chill at a sort of informal reception for a bit. Then, we headed out to Wheaton to meet an old friend of
pierceheart's for dinner at a Scottish pub with a kick-ass single malt selection.
Sunday we visited one of
pierceheart's brothers, and then headed out to Sugarloaf Mountain, where we drove and hiked around. GORGEOUS place. Wow. Then we hit a little restaurant that served up some to-die-for crabcakes and hush puppies. Mmmmmmm. Then airport, and home again, and in bed very late.
Now to bed again. I think I'm caught up on sleep, having slept late today and yesterday morning. Good thing. The pace this weekend was a little crazy, but it felt like one long exciting date with my boy, and it was wonderful.
