If I talk about this damn ball a lot, forgive me. I don't DO stuff like this. It's exciting.
So, last night I was NOT able to pick up my dress. The tailor still has a bit more to do, but the actual taking-in of the dress is done and it fits me perfectly! I'm so happy! After I got done with that, I decided to be a bit naughty and got myself a demi-cup (think espresso cup) of Burdick's hot chocolate. This is, for those who have not had it, a chocogasm in a cup.
Then I went downtown and hit DSW to hunt for shoes. Now, technically I didn't NEED shoes for tomorrow, since I have some plain black velvet heeled sandals that would be ok. But one of the straps on them is sort of loose, so I thought I'd at least look around and see what else was out there. I ended up finding a gorgeous pair of sandals with tons of crystals on them, which are actually amazingly comfortable, for fancy high-heeled sandals. This made me a very happy camper.
I also got myself a pretty crystal necklace at Filene's basement. I know I'd said that with my beaded neckline I didn't want a necklace, but when I tried the dress on again last night, I realized exactly how big the expanse of skin really is above that neckline. A necklace was definitely in order. I also picked up a little string of faux pearls, to wear with my vintage dress. :)
Dinner was Vietnamese seafood noodle soup in Chinatown, because it was already 7pm and I didn't want to have to cook. Besides, seafood noodle soup is good for you, cheap, and hot. Definitely nummy.
I got to bed at a reasonable hour last night, which is good.
Tonight my schedule is as follows:
1. Get out of work early (again!) to go to the tailor (again!)
2. See about finding some Insolia inserts for my sandals (supposed to be v. comfy for heels)
3. Go home and shower
4. Pack what is needed for the hotel and figure out what needs to come to work with me
5. Brush nice coat (which I may well decide soon to get relined, taken in, and have the buttons replaced at Rizzo's)
6. Do nails
Somewhere in there dinner must be had. I may have to ask
pierceheart for help on that one.
