I haven't put a real entry in this journal in a few days, have I?

Since the last one, I've done the following:

1) Had a drink in the Muddy Charles for the first time Tuesday night with [livejournal.com profile] ringer
2) Went to dance class (a particularly intensive one)
3) Received a little wooden dreidel from my manager for the first night of Hanukkah
4) Watched the last installment of Tin Man which, while it wasn't great, was rather entertaining.
5) Ate delicious Thai food: steamed seafood in a yummy hot and sour broth
6) Watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and laughed my ass off

It's been a pretty good week. 5&6 made for a very nice date last night. Tonight, it looks like [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart and I will be going to Jacob Wirth for this. Tomorrow...I have no clue. We'll see.

I've been a good girl diet-wise all week, and have still managed to go out to eat one night and have a martini another night. Yay!

Now, MIT is giving us Monday, December 24 and Monday, December 31 off in addition to the holidays that fall on the Tuesdays of those weeks. I need to take Wednesday, December 26 off as well because that's when I'm coming back from Maryland. I couldn't really find much of a good reason to take off the 27th and 28th as well, but since I couldn't really find a good reason NOT to do so, I've just requested it. So I will be on vacation from probably noonish on 12/21 through 1/2, and will only burn three vacation days in the process! Considering I have about 19 days so far and am continuing to accrue more, I really think I SHOULD burn some. :)

This one just makes me smile:

(from Brezsny)

CAPRICORN:

The phrase "new roses" can serve as an antidote to neurosis in the coming days -- as a kind of magical spell. Invoke it whenever you're in danger of getting undermined by either your own neurosis or someone else's. If you notice, for instance, that your subconscious mind is spiraling down into a sour fantasy stirred up by one of your habitual fears, start muttering a cheerful round of "new roses, new roses, new roses." If your allies engage in compulsive behavior that they tend to get stuck in when stress overflows, chant "new roses, new roses, new roses" in a blithe, sing-song tone.
