Yes, I'm back!
Jan. 9th, 2008 08:58 amSorry I haven't been around much yet this week. I've had this two-day conference type thing here at work. Basically, the whole department got together and listened to lectures, panels, and discussions for two days. There was also free food, including the lunch yesterday afternoon that took the place of our usual holiday party. It was a nice break from the ordinary, though it did include a lot of sitting down.
Last night, I went to see Lars and the Real Girl, which was COMPLETELY unlike what I had expected. I was expecting a rather crass and silly comedy which might have some good funny moments. What it was, though, was a very moving and sweet story about mental illness, loneliness, and love, with some good funny moments. I definitely recommend it. Last night was a good night all around, and included a very yummy dinner at Asmara. I really prefer them to the branch of Addis Red Sea on Mass Ave. I never went to the original Addis, but the food at that one was pretty bland. Asmara, as always, was delicious and spicy!
Tonight, I get to try the Salome's Potion cocktail at Cuchi-Cuchi for the first time (yay!), and then have dinner at Dali with
pierceheart. I am so glad that boy has an adventurous palate. It makes him so much fun as a dinner companion. :)
So, I am generally full of squee this morning. It's a nice change from the moodiness of Monday evening, though even that got better with some talking. Life is good.
