Poor Delenn.

My roommate fangirl715's kitty, Delenn, is not doing well. This one is the Midget, the Dust Bunny, the Annoying Little Sister personality of the household cats. She was diagnosed with diabetes a while ago (she's been on insulin), and last night, we noticed she wasn't looking good. She was ignoring her catnip and not eating well, and she was just kind of sitting hunched up for the most part, and sort of limping when she did move. fangirl715 took her to the vet this morning. It looks like she's suffering from ketone buildup (which is what happens when diabetes is not well controlled), and one kidney and her liver are enlarged. The vet said it's possible that she could have a turnaround and get better, but it's also possible that she might not make it. She's not a young cat, and the struggle to keep her blood sugar under control has been difficult. fangirl715 is going to try to work with the vet to treat her for a couple days, and if she doesn't show any improvement, she is going to try to get her to the animal hospital (problem: very expensive, even if I chip in a little bit).

So, if any of you have met Delenn and liked her restless head-butting and OMGLOVEME!!! attitude, do her a favour and send some healing and strengthening energy her way.
