The anniversary date has been planned, and the anniversary present is ordered!
Since the Odyssey Cruise wasn't available, we will be doing drinks at Top of the Hub (very nice for the view), and dinner at L'Espalier, where we've wanted to go for a while. Yeah, it's hideously expensive (by my standards, anyway), but if our fifth anniversary isn't an Occasion, what is?
I ordered the boy's present online just now. It should get here in time. If not, it'll get here only a day or two later. Yay! I just hope he likes it. I think he will. :)

dahveed76. I'm making mahi-mahi with watermelon salsa, roasted sweet potatoes, and spinach salad for dinner. Tomorrow is a cookout at the home of tigira and meadmaker. I am bringing something pretty novel, for me: something I've never tried before, but which just sort of occurred to me. It's going to be a slaw of fennel and apple, with sweet onion and maybe some carrot for color. (Note: I'm trying to rid myself of the habit I've been in since Ireland of using British spelling for words like that. Nothing, however, will convince me to spell grey with an "a". I don't think I ever have.) I'll dress it with low-fat mayo, cider vinegar, a little honey, and caraway seeds. I THINK it will be good. I hope so! It will be an interesting experiment.
