Something-gate?

So, reading some news articles on Sarah Palin brought up the word "Troopergate".

Anyone else slightly annoyed at how all political scandals become "Something-gate" these days? It just gets on my nerves.

Incidentally, I mostly think of the Watergate as the place where I used to go grocery shopping when I was in college. It was only a few blocks from my sophomore and senior dorm, and there's a Safeway and a CVS in there.
