What I'm up to lately
Nov. 5th, 2008 10:15 am1. I did end up skipping dance on Monday night, to work on my presentation. I got it all done in plenty of time.
2. I voted Tuesday morning. Yes, I voted for Obama. I am not madly in love with him like some people are, but I do think he was the best of the available options this time around, and I am very glad he won. As I have said to others in the past, "Don't fuck up."
3. I gave the presentation in class on Tuesday. It went well. The only way my nerves really come out when I'm speaking in public is that I don't breathe deeply enough. I keep feeling like a deep breath is too much of a pause, and like it inflates my belly and makes me look fat. Nonetheless, the instructor said my voice carried to the back of the room perfectly, and that I mostly seemed at ease.
4. Last night, I cooked lamb steak with pomegranate molasses, bulgur, broiled eggplant, and jajik for dinner. Tasty! We watched a lot of House, interspersed with election coverage. I'm getting somewhat addicted to that show.
5. Yesterday on my way home, I stopped in the Coop (the MIT bookstore), and snagged a book that I saw on the bargain table. It's a hardcover popup book for kids about the human body. I'm going to bring it in to read to N today. I think he will LOVE it. I really hope so. If he does, I might give it to him as a present at the end of the year.
6. The mead we started on Sunday is bubbling away nicely! I'm very happy with that. I hope it turns out well.
7. I really need to start looking at my calendar and getting definite "when can we do this/what are we doing then" answers from people about various things, so I have some idea of what my schedule's going to look like for the next couple months.
8. Oh gods, it's Christmas shopping season. I have no idea...gah. There are things I want to make for people, but I have no illusions about being able to finish them before Christmas. *sigh*
