+ I got all my holiday cards sent out last night! We even sent one to the mayor. Hey, he sent one to [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart. Plus, you know, he's our neighbor, and he's even newer than we are to the Ten Hills neighborhood, you know how it is. :)

+ I boxed up the presents for [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart's mom and dad last night. The stole blocked BEAUTIFULLY. OMG. I ended up not using [livejournal.com profile] lindalee's trick with the twine, because I never got off my ass to find any, but still...perfect. I was so pleased with how it came out. I put in a note with care instructions, but now I realize I left out the fact that she should lay it flat and shape to dry. Oops. I'll rewrite that.

- This means I need to stop at the post office after work today to mail the stuff out. That takes me rather out of my way. Which means I'll be later than usual getting home, which is a pain since I have to go to the grocery store before I can make dinner.

- The tap water in our office is somewhat ammoniacal. That's why the water in Moby Dick's tank is ammoniacal even one day after being filled.

+ Fortunately, the filter that gives us our drinking water in the office seems to remove ammonia, or at least, reduce it by what looks like more than half. Rock on! Fishy, you're getting filtered water when I change your water tomorrow.

+ I have now bought three things for the boy, and two have arrived. I know what to get my mom. I can probably find something decent for my father. My sister's done. Gifts are progressing!

+ Lobster was tasty last night. Yum!

Score.

No one else was up for knitting at lunch today, so I used my break time to go to the post office and mail the presents to [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart's mom and dad. Yay! Now I can go right to the grocery store after work, saving myself time.

A coworker was selling some of her handmade jewelry at work today. I succumbed. I got a gorgeous necklace and earrings made of tiger's eye and...jade? Glass? The beads in that color are too small to tell easily. Anyway, not bad for $42. I figure, I liked the stuff, she just had expensive dental surgery and needs the cash, and it's well-made, plus I'm supporting an artisan's business! Why not, am I right?

Oh, and last night, I tried on what I've got done so far of the Intolerable Cruelty skirt. Yep, that's the right size. I love it already. :D
