Stuff, a lot of it

It was very good! Highlights as follows:
1. Birthday party on Friday night. I got to meet
emilytheslayer and
justanyolname in person for the first time! I also got to see a whole lot of other awesome people who I have seen in the past and whose company I always enjoy. The gifts I received were very welcome and lovely things, too.
2. Watching Repo: The Genetic Opera. AWESOME. I loved Tony Head in it, singing something that almost reminded me of something Tom Waits might have done on one of his more recent and bizarre albums. Blood Money, or something. And Terrance Zdunich? Damn. Love the voice. Didn't realize the guy who played the grave robber was one of the writers. Wow.
3. Shopping! I finally bought something from Angelwear Creations: a gorgeous necklace with pearls, peridots, garnets, and amethysts in silver. I'll take a picture at some point. I also got a bottle of Bien Loin d'Ici and a bento box set from
fabricdragon, who it was VERY nice to see. I bought copies of Drawing Down the Moon (ours got destroyed in the flood), A Witch Alone (trusted folks recommend it, therefore so do I, but I haven't yet read it myself), and A Hat Full of Sky.
4. MaltCon! This is basically people getting together and drinking good scotch. Good people, good scotch, good times.
Now, the bad.
OK, well, it's not terrible. It's just that, well, I've gained more weight than I'm comfortable having on me. Clothes are too tight and I don't feel like I look as good as I could. I have to remember that this is partly because it's that time of month when I always pack on a couple pounds, but still. I want to lose 10 pounds by the Flea. Considering I'm just starting a diet now, and that first week I can usually lose about 4 pounds or so if I stick to it (especially if I'm also shedding that hormonal weight gain), I should be able to do it. If not, I'll have lost SOMETHING. I'm going to use my bento box set as a form of portion control. I just made a lunch for tomorrow that has 4 oz. shrimp with satay seasoning (2 points on WW), about 1/3 c. rice with cumin, cardamom, and ajwain (2 points), and a cup of fresh raw carrots, celery, tomatoes, and cucumbers. It's such a cute lunch! I love it! I won't have time to do this every day, but it'll be a nice change from Lean Cuisines and the like.
Now...time to go watch Good Eats with this gorgeous guy who seems to want me to join him in the living room!
