In other news: last night's skee-ball and sushi date was awesome. I won enough tickets for one of those little electric back massagers, ate tasty tasty feesh, and spent the evening in excellent company.

Now, I have plans for vervain13 to come over on Saturday for dinner, which makes me happy. Chatting with my Fairy Godfather is long overdue! :) And then, pierceheart cooks for ME on Sunday. YEAH.

Writer's Block: Jackpot

I'd pay off my debts, first of all, and those of my immediate family. Then I'd find a financial counselor to help me invest wisely. Then I'd give notice at my job. Then I'd shop around for a home and furnish it to my specifications. Then I'd start thinking philanthropically, maybe creating a family foundation and starting it out with some modest gifts to MIT, MSF, NPR and other nonprofits. I'd keep it small until I really organized my philanthropic priorities, at which point I'd put in more money and start making larger grants. I'd probably enroll in culinary school. I would probably spend my time volunteering at nonprofits, maybe even join a board or two if they'd have me after I developed some longer-term philanthropic relationships, instead of working for a living.

But what you really want to know is, what would be my splurges?

Well, the house for one. I'd probably create the kitchen at least from the ground up, with a professional range, two ovens, gorgeous cookware from Le Creuset, All Clad, Lodge, etc., awesome knives, granite countertops, custom lighting. That sort of thing. I'd also have a wine and beer cellar designed, preferably connected to a private brewpub with taps and beer engines.

I'd buy a whole new wardrobe, primarily custom-tailored stuff to fit me perfectly.

I'd travel. Everywhere, pretty much.

I might get a degree in archaeology.
