Things and stuff

1. Surprise dinner with a friend tonight! That wasn't expected, but is always welcome.

2. Just made another Kiva loan. No, I don't loan much, but I do loan. The first loan I'd made is now more than 50% paid as of today, so I figured that was a good time to make a second one. This one has gone to a group of three Afghani women, two of whom are in the textile business, and one of those is a weaver. The third has a grocery stand, I believe. Nifty! I particularly like the idea of funding people in the food or fiber industries, because those are two of my biggest interests. I think maybe I'll do some more detailed poking around for my next loan to see if there are any loan applicants who do stuff related to women's health. That won't be for a while, though.

3. Happy December, all! Today is cold enough to feel like December, so that's fitting. Not quite cold enough for the FHOD or for my new mittens yet, though. I'll bet I'll need them by the time my birthday comes around. Today got the warm coat and my knitted hat.
