I'm fine at 26 for now, thanks.
2) Where were you when 9/11 happened?
Getting ready to head to class at BU. I vaguely heard people talking about it on the T but wasn't sure what they were talking about, since I hadn't seen the news that morning. When I got to the COM building, the TVs in the main lobby were showing the news, and I stopped dead to watch for about five minutes before running to a computer so I could e-mail my friend who worked at the Pentagon to make sure he was ok.
3) What do you do when vending machines steal your money?
I swear up a blue streak.
4) Do you consider yourself kind?
Kind of. :) I try to be considerate and generous of spirit. But I don't suffer fools gladly.
5) If you had to get a tattoo, where would it be?
I've already got one. It's verrrah nice.
6) If you could be fluent in any other language?
French would be easiest. Also sexiest. But I'd like to learn German as well.
7) Do you know your neighbors?
Nope.
8) What do you consider a vacation?
No work and nothing hanging over my head. A chance to do something I don't usually get to do, but which I want to do, whether that involves going somewhere new or staying home and doing something fun.
9) Do you follow your horoscope?
I read the one at Free Will Astrology every week because unlike most, it's helpful in that it gives you a new perspective on things that's always useful to have.
10) Would you move for the person you loved?
Not really an issue, as the person with whom I plan on living at some point doesn't want to move.
11) Are you touchy feely?
Quite, unless I feel that someone is invading my personal space and they have no right to do so. But I am a big fan of hugs, massages, and cheek-smooches (or lip smooches with certain people).
12) Do you believe that opposites attract?
For me? Direct opposites? Not so much. I prefer compliments to opposites: people with whom I have a lot in common, but with whom I have enough differences that it keeps things interesting.
13) Dream job?
I liked DB's answer of "dillettante". That was brilliant. And so true.
14) Favorite channel(s)?
Eh. I have no channel-loyalty.
15) Favorite place to go on weekends?
Don't have one.
16) Showers or baths?
Showers for daily cleansing, baths for deliberately decadent relaxation.
17) Do you paint your nails?
Not very often, though I love having painted nails.
18) Do you trust people easily?
When my gut reaction says they're trustworthy, yes. When it says otherwise, it takes a lot to convince me I'm wrong.
19) What are your phobias?
Spiders. Parasites (more of a dread than a phobia, since it's not something I encounter).
20) Do you want kids?
Absolutely. But not yet.
21) Do you keep a handwritten journal?
No, the most I'll do is scrawl something on a piece of paper if a computer is unavailable. Generally, I prefer to type my journals because it's easier for my hands to keep up with my thoughts that way.
22) Where would you rather be right now?
Building E-19, working at a new permanent job, to be practical about it. But I'd love right now to be sitting in an outdoor cafe somewhere in the shade, knitting and sipping coffee.
23) Who makes you feel warm and fuzzy?
My boys. :) My friends. My family of choice.
24)Are you a heavy sleeper or a light sleeper?
Generally heavy, which has not always been the case. I've found that earplugs have changed that for me, so I guess it was mostly noise that woke me up.
25) Are you paranoid?
I can be, sometimes, but I have also learned to recognize paranoia when it hits me and distinguish it from rationally based fears.
26) Are you impatient?
I can be either extraordinarily patient or madly impatient. I am most impatient when trying to walk quickly when the way is being blocked by slow-moving or stopped people.
27) Who can you relate to?
People who are articulate enough to express their thoughts and feelings in a way that I can understand.
28) How do you feel about interracial couples?
I don't even think about it. It's a nonissue.
29) Have you been burned by love?
Of course.

A lifetime of resisting temptation will only leave you bitter and regretful in the end. Either that or "communicate, communicate, communicate."

Reading in bed with the boy, starting to fall asleep.

I honestly love living in the Boston area, and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. That said, I adored Berlin and Galway too.
