And why must you cost so much money?

But you know what? Yes, you're expensive. But you are SO PRETTY. And not only that, your designers actually assume that women have about a 10" difference between bust and waist. Not only are your clothes sized to fit me, they are designed to flatter me, too. And after that last time I went shirt shopping at the mall and almost cried with frustration at my inability to find more than TWO SHIRTS that did both of those things (and only barely), I think you must be worth the price. You have stuff that does not require safety pins to hold the bust shut. You are cut with a nipped in waist and a generally tailored silhouette.

I just ordered a pencil skirt, sleeveless top, and 3/4 sleeve jacket, all in red. I can play mix and match. The sleeveless top means I can wear it in the summer, and the jacket means I can wear it in the cooler weather, AND that I have what basically amounts to another suit! Yes, it's red. Yes, it's dead sexy. No, I wouldn't wear it to a job interview. But I'd wear it to give a presentation for my job, for example.

Another plus was that I realized when I went to pay through PayPal that I had a sizable credit in there from when I'd wanted to buy a dress from A.J. Rumina and they were out of my size. That was money I'd forgotten I had! So I didn't need to pull as much out of my bank account to make this purchase as I thought.

So, for the curious, here are the items I'm getting. I'm pretty darn sure that even if it doesn't look like it, they're all matching color, because they're meant to be mix-and-match separates.

Someone makes clothing that actually assumes we're women, not tall 10-year-old boys with no hips and fake boobs?

It's either a bloody miracle or a sign of impending apocalypse. Either way, you're going to look fabulous for it.

I'm not sure I technically have enough hips for the skirt, but what I lack in hips, I more than make up in thighs, so I'll still fill it out!

Oh don't I know it! TD is located 2 blocks from my house and the designer, Candice, is a long time friend of my husband. I have the above 2 piece suit in black--wore it for my dissertation defense. I also got my wedding dress there. Their clothes do require a bit higher upkeep than I'd been used to, but if you know a good tailor and dry clean them (though I tend to "cheat" a little with Woolite and Dryel), they will last.

BTW, if you ever make it to the Deep South I would love to accompany you on a vintage shopping hunt:-)

Honey, you're on. If I ever get to come to New Orleans, I am going to Trashy Diva and anywhere else I can find the pretty. :)

If I end up really falling in love with them, I am going to rave about them to every curvy-shaped woman I know. It's only a pity that they don't do plus sizes, because these look like they'd be VERY flattering to anyone with an hourglass-type figure, in any size.

Thanks! Yeah, they're a little pricey for everyday wear, but getting a good-fitting suit for under $200 (the jacket and skirt are $170, I think), is pretty SWEET.
