I spilled my last little thermos-cup of coffee all over my desk. Gaah. I had tons of papers on there that got soaked. Usually, coffee-related mishaps only occur when I am wearing a white shirt. Today it's black. Lucky me. Except that the coffee spilled EVERYWHERE except on the shirt, so it wouldn't have mattered.

Maybe it happened to spare me the calories of the sugar in the coffee. I need to lose weight. Starting to feel like an amorphous blob and my pants are tight. Then again, that's partly PMS, but still...time to start eating better. I promise myself that even if lack of time forces me to eat out more than I should, I will do my best to get healthy stuff more often at restaurants. I'm getting a salad for lunch today. And when I go out tonight, I will get something that is NOT fried and has veggies in it. And I will eat slowly, so that I don't eat too much before I realize I'm full. And then I will go home and get some...exercise. :)

Yay for, um...exercise. Great for burning calories and staying flexible, never mind what it does for one's mood. ;)

I'm actually trying to lose now, too. I mean TRYING, rather than talking about it. I've started with portion control, and so far it's pretty easy.

Indeed! Portion control is important. Probably the most important thing. Eating less works for most people. Not all--I have a friend who eats like a bird and still puts on weight, in spite of an active lifestyle.

He or she may be eating TOO little and putting their body into starvation mode. They might want to tweak it a little. Just a thought.

I used to eat until my stomach would HURT! Not sure why, but I managed to kick that habit about a year ago. Weird. The portion control, I think, IS working. My jeans feel loose. Then again, they do stretch as you wear them between washings...

Well, she's tried so many different plans in the past year. She sees a nutritionist, so she's got good guidance. She doesn't eat THAT little.

Ugh, no worries there. I MIGHT try it if I were about 20 pounds heavier and had tried everything else under the sun with no success. As it is, I'd be happy to just drop 10 pounds. And I'm going to do it the old-fashioned way: eating less and exercising. It would be kinda nice to fit into my old leather pants again. I think once I reach that stage I'll be content.
