Damn it!

I just got my altered bra back from Lady Grace yesterday. I tried it on for the first time after the alterations just a minute ago. They had taken down the top of the back of the bra so it wouldn't show above my dress. Well, they had given me a size bigger than I usually wear because the bra covers my whole (enormous) ribcage. Now that the back is lowered, though, the part where it needed to be bigger is open. The rest is just TOO big. It's loose and gives me no support at all. FUCK! I wonder if they'd take it in for me if I brought it back? Maybe just add on another set of hook closures further in so I can fasten it tighter? That might work. Because if they don't, well, right now it just slips down on me and won't hold anything up.

You know, sometimes I really, really wish I could be a fashion designer. Even if I just made fabulous bras for large-breasted women, my life would have meant something to the world in general. I could die saying I changed the world for the better. Oy.

Well... if you paid good money for them to alter it so it would fit you.... theeeeeen... it needs to fit you. Treat them like a third grader... keep doing it until you get it right!

Yep. I'm going to call them tomorrow, but I can't go back there until next Friday. Grr. I didn't pay a total of $48 for that thing just so it can sit in my drawer, and there's no WAY I'm going to try to find a new dress at this point in time.

If worse comes to worse, maybe I can duct tape it tighter...ah, duct tape. What CAN'T you use it for?

These folks are experts in fitting bras. If their alteratios department didn't take this into consideration, then you have every right to have them fix it. THEY were the ones who had you get a bigger size, YOU were not the one that made this decision. Therefore, it is THEIR responsibility to make the bra fit properly.

Knowing the store, I'm sure they'll handle the problem for you without incident. If not, let me know IMMEDIATELY, as I do a LOT of shopping there myself!

Yeah, I have faith that they'll be able to fix it, and that they won't charge me. My only worry is if they say, "Well, even if we do a smaller size, you still aren't really going to have any support." I'm sure I could get my money back, but I need a BRA more than the money.

For us big chested girls, strapless bras do not offer a hell of a lot of support, it's true, but it still shouldn't be floating around on you the way you're describing.

The hardest thing to get used to is the feeling that if you bend over, you're going to fall right out of it, so be careful!! Because I'm so big-chested, I'm always wary of having to use a strapless. I'm never thrilled with the support that they offer, but it's certainly more support than wearing nothing at all!!

Yes, and right now I get the same support as with nothing at all. It's really way too loose. I have a normal strapless bra that gives me enough support (though not as much as a regular one) but this new bra...nope. They must fix.
