I have a song stuck in my head that is almost as bad to have stuck there as something like "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall". Anyone else know "The Rattlin' Bog"? Yes, I know some of you do. :P Sheesh. What a thing to be running through my head.

Mmm. Wonderful weekend. Not a single date. Odd that those two should go together. Another congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] ravenstorm27 and [livejournal.com profile] cairpre26! I am so very happy for the two of you. I love you both. :) May you enjoy this week off muchly, and the rest of your married life even more so.

Of course, things like that make me hope that one day I will find myself feeling as fulfilled and contented as those two. I will change, my life will change, people around me will change. I hope that all the changes that happen coincide to get me to that point eventually, where I am so very certain and solid in my happiness and love.

I went thrift store shopping yesterday, looking mostly for a new set of glasses. I want big solid glasses, but nothing like that was to be found on the shelves. I also looked at candlesticks for tapers. I didn't find much--the cool ones didn't have mates, and the ones that had mates were ugly. Even the single ones weren't cool enough to buy. Bah.

Anyone want to go yard sale-ing sometime soon? Let me know! I really want to go bargain-hunting. :)

I did get some cool stuff at the hardware store: silver polish to polish my great grandma's silver stuff, a knife sharpener (not the kind I like, but it works), Brasso (to polish the pots that [livejournal.com profile] ravenstorm27 and [livejournal.com profile] cairpre26 gave me!) and some trouser hangers which I badly needed.

Ok, well, I'm about to go into a meeting. Ta for now!

I should drag you over to The Village, the store that Anne and I go to all the time. It's small, but I have found so much really cool shit there. Just about my entire warm weather wardrobe is from there. I'm going to get a bathing suit, but I'd feel better buying that retail.

Go you!

Nifty! I don't shop for clothes much in those places. The Garment District is also an exception to the usual rule of thrift store clothes being suitable only for old ladies, but I haven't gotten there in years.

I've found the clothes I get at The Village to be clean, in good shape, and --with few exceptions-- not too dated.

Besides, Sunday is half price day, so I get a lot of my clothing for under $4.00, and we're talking some items that retail for $40-50! I have one dress at home that I got for $4. It retailed for something ridiculous like $85! :D

Should hear Schooner Faire do it on their album "Alive"

Ah, but that version misses the crucial parts that make it a good song to sing at Pagan events; namely, the parts about the tree from the seed and the seed in the hand and the hand on the boy and the boy from the maid and the maid on the man and the man on the bed and the bed from the feather.....

I've also heard "the tree on the grave and the grave on the man and the man from the boy...etc."

Wait 'til you see The Wickerman. :)

I've seen Schooner Faire do it live, many times.

I never understood how the flea got in the egg...

And I think you forgot the feather ;}
