Help!

Ok, I'm getting desperate. Can ANYONE rescue me from an evening in front of the goddamn fucking television? I'm craving socialization. I don't want to be at home sitting around the house like a vegetable, and I'm nervous to do something like going to ManRay alone. PLEASE, if anyone has nothing to do tonight, let me know. I'm going stir-crazy.

That's what I do too. I put on a movie, then I come into my room every five minutes to check mail and go on LJ.

Well, go for it. If a guy is too creepy, and won't leave you alone, ask for help. Daisy will help, I'm sure.

I'm just worried that no one will want to talk to me except the creeps. I can handle telling guys to shove off if they're being outright rude, but I will be so miserable if there's no one nice there to talk to. And there rarely is. I don't think I'm going to go if I have to go alone. It's usually about a 25% chance TOPS that anyone will try to have an actual conversation with me. And that usually only happens when someone else is there right next to me, hanging out with me. Maybe a 50% chance that anyone will want to dance with me, but won't bother chatting, just dancing and maybe kissing.

I was in no mood for clubbing last night. It was settled for me when I saw the lights on in my uncle's house. I guess they are on a timer still.

But let me know when you want to go next. I will show you my favorite "safe" spot and Paul the bartender. People think he is new but he took 3 yrs off. Very good spot to hang out and he is a nice man to talk to.

Oh, I always feel safe there. I know that if necessary I could kick the ass of anyone bothering me. I just hate the fact that most of the time, only creepy guys pay any attention to me there. I often feel like I get myself all tarted up and looking my best just for the purpose of sitting around buying my own drinks and dancing by myself.

The only temporary flaw is that I'm not sure when that will next be.

I might be going to Ceremony tomorrow but I won't be sure until perhaps quite late in the day. From Tuesday I have out of town guests to entertain for a week... but any time after that :)

Oh, don't worry...I have a hard time scheduling too. I don't usually do Ceremony, since I have to work early the next day. Anyway, as far as I can tell, there are plenty of Friday nights in the future. Unless there's something we aren't being told. :)

Hmm. That sounds like it should work. :) We should probably meet for drinks and/or food first somewhere, since it's hard to get to know someone in a club where you have to shout to be heard!

I was having similar thoughts but how about food since on a Friday night the places to get drinks will be busy and loud and thus not much of an improvement on the club for noise levels ?

Somewhere in Central ? I'm in Davis and know good restaurants along most of this stretch of the red line, more so towards Porter/Davis but it depends on what kinds of food you're interested in...

Hmm. I probably won't be wanting to eat too much, so somewhere with good appetizers might be nice. I'm pretty flexible on restaurants. I'm afraid that since I'll have to come straight from work, I'll need to change into my ManRay clothes in the bathroom of wherever we eat! It's a pain in the arse, but I can't go wearing a corset or whatever to work. :) Any suggestions for a good place?

I'll ponder some more on that (since there isn't really a hurry to decide) but a couple of the many options which come to mind are;

The Miracle of Science (http://cuisinenet.com/info/?v=237&/boston/rest/3197.shtml) in Central. A bar that does interesting food, much of it snacks and appetisers and you can linger with a drink. Also has spacious bathrooms for changing but might be loud later.

Central Kitchen (http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-2827018-central_kitchen_boston-i) (again in Central) is eclectic and interesting, sitting at the bar is always entertaining and a good place to chat with a drink.

If you wanted to come to Davis we could eat here at so many places (particularly if you'd like Indian food - I go to Namaskar so often they know me) and then we could both change at my place before heading to the club.
