Guess I have time for a quickie. :)
The date last night was FABULOUS! So much fun. It made a nice change from Johnny Depp movies (sorry, Johnny). Geoff seems to be a really nice and entertaining guy. I don't know too many who offer to pay for all of dinner (not cheap) on the first date anymore. We went out to Ginza (the one in Brookline) for Japanese. Good food. We made each other laugh a lot, and even though we talked so much Sunday night, we still had a lot to talk about last night too. After dinner, it still being early, we headed to Big City Diner for pool. He scratched the eight ball four times. Yes. I have a sneaking suspicion he was letting me win, and screwing up to make me laugh. Or maybe it really is possible he sucks worse than I do. :) Either way, it was fun, and I determined his sanity was just at the right level that I would allow him to drive me home, but was interested enough to want to see him again. A goodnight kiss in the car before I left rounded out a great evening.

The social life seems to be picking up again. I am going to ManRay Friday with [livejournal.com profile] pir, and want to get together with another guy I met on OKCupid at some point. Then there's [livejournal.com profile] autumnsshadow, who seems as busy as I am, but who I may well end up meeting at some point. Sheesh. Before you know it I will be the girl with absolutely no free time and a sink full of dirty dishes again. Oh wait, that never changed. I think this time around, it is a good thing at least one of the people I'm talking to lives pretty far away, and another is very busy with a lot of other people in his life. I like spending time with cool people, but I only have so much to spend...

Oh, and in other news, there was this total asshat troll on one of my mailing lists today. He's a completely new guy. He got all bitchy at me when I posted about not being able to go to my discussion group tonight. "What kind of example does it set when you have these meetings and don't show up?" etc. I let him know I've gone nearly every week since I moved back to Boston, in spite of the low attendance that often means I sit there alone. I said doing laundry tonight was just more important. He thought I needed better time management skills. Well. I let him know that since he's currently unemployed, he might not understand that someone with a 45-hour work week and about 12 hours per week commuting time might not have that much free time to manage. He just got worse and worse, spewing out these utterly laughable (and poorly spelled) insults and complaints. He had about the snarkiness skills of a third-grader, just about the level of "I know you are, but what am I?" I just had SO much fun cutting him down every time he thought he was making a smart remark. It was all I could do to keep from cackling out loud at work. He finally was shut up by the mods after a whole day of this shit. I was secretly disappointed--I'd really been enjoying that.

Damn, it's late. Into the shower with me. Splish-splash.

Why would that be weird from someone else?

And yes, some more fun like that would be nice. :)

Um, I dunno, it guess I meant it would sound weird to anyone else who didn't know us, but knew I was your boyfriend.

Ok. Actually, pretty much everyone who knows you're my boyfriend knows it wouldn't sound weird from you. :)

Troll? Definitely. I didn't hear that he'd been put on moderation. I did send T*D* about adding mods, though. As of this evening it was her and MKA. *sigh*

Yeah. T did say she was putting him on moderation. I wrote to her directly and was as contrite as it's possible to be while remaining highly amused. I explained everything I said was for my own enjoyment rather than out of anger. I was going to ask her about adding mods myself, but decided against it. I didn't want her getting miffed at me.

And the world gets smaller again...

Happy your date went well =)

I find it highly amusing that my world's shrunk a bit again today. [livejournal.com profile] pir is my recent-ex-roommate's girlfriend's ex(or soon to be)-husband. Oh, the sordid webs we weave...

"And that makes us what?"

"Absolutely nothing!"

This six degrees of separation thing is getting a little frightening. :)

There are only 1000 real people in the world, you know, that's why you keep hearing about the same ones over and over again...

Ex-husband is easier to explain even though it's not legally true just yet.
