I hate not having the internet at home. I hate not being able to chat with [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart most of all. I nagged the roomie to try a new network card in it today. Hopefully he'll do it soon, and that will work.

It's not so much that I'm a net junkie. I'm just a communication junkie. If I could talk to [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart, I wouldn't miss the instant messaging. As it is, I feel all cut off. E-mails are one thing. Conversations are another.

It would also be nice not to have 20 e-mails to sort through in the morning when I get to work.

*sigh*

Ok, self-pity over, time to work.

I totally understand the different meanings and importance of communications.

Yes, emails are one thing, but semi real time chats are better.

I will say, however, that for me, and me alone, the emails are the thing that say, right at that moment "I am thinking about you, now."

Chat sessions are scheduled, postcards were written weeks ago.

That is just my opinion, and should be considered as reflective of the situation in which I find myself, without anyone being able to pick up a phone and call me at random. If it weren't illegal, and expensive, I would buy a Thuraya phone, but it's an international number, so . . .

Chat isn't usually scheduled. I know when you're usually on, and if I have time, I go on too. It's more of a chance meeting thing to me, and real-time communication is great, and much needed for me.
