Wow, what a weekend. I'm just glad that the hours of sleep I sacrificed were given up for a lot of fun.

Friday night I had dinner with [livejournal.com profile] pir and then we hung out at his place. Let me just say, I have to take off my hat (or would, if I had one) to the only person I currently know who can out-scotch me. My goodness. Now I can say I have tasted scotch that has been aged longer than me. :)

Unfortunately, I was having such a good time with the chatting and the drinking that the time I had set to go home just blew right by me. I was planning on heading home around 11, but ended up leaving at around 1:30. Eeek. I ended up getting a little less than four hours of sleep before heading over to [livejournal.com profile] lindalee's for a ride to our friends' wedding. Trying to help her and [livejournal.com profile] daurdabla cut scripts before having a drop of coffee just did not work well. Fortunately, we stopped at Dunkie's on the way to Rockport, where [livejournal.com profile] daurdabla was kind enough to buy this cashless ditz some brekkie and sweet, sweet caffeine.

The morning ceremony was just lovely. I cried, natch. It was held in the same place as [livejournal.com profile] cairpre26 and [livejournal.com profile] ravenstorm27's wedding. Afterwards, I rushed back with the clergy to the Arsenal mall, where [livejournal.com profile] lindalee bought some fabu jewelry for the evening. Then we all went back to her place and got gussied up. :) I love that expression. We all cleaned up nice, and headed to the evening ceremony afterwards. It was short but sweet. The bride was absolutely glorious in her dress, looking like a queen with a white veil in her gorgeous blond hair. The groom was quite handsome in his spiffy tux, and both looked happier than I've ever seen them.

The reception was a blast. There was good food, free drinks (couldn't really call 'em good though. One bad bartender.), and music. We danced in our finery, to the likes of "Love Shack" and "Tainted Love". It was nifty. By the time we ended it at midnight, I was barely able to keep upright. I'd come close to going into trance when I was dancing, from the exhaustion. When I snapped out of it, I felt like a puppet with its strings cut. I was happy to get home, and happier still that I actually got a free ride to my front door from a very nice guy whose name I can't remember, and who also gave [livejournal.com profile] daurdabla a ride. He kissed my hand, too. I am quite a sucker for that, as some here have reason to know. :)

Sunday was a bit quieter and more restful. I slept in, but still didn't get quite enough sleep. I did, however, get steak with gorgonzola butter, chicken in provencale mustard cream sauce, nummy stuffed mushrooms, pasta with pesto and shrimp, and chocolate cake for dinner that night. Mmm.

Tonight I go food shopping. I need to cook more, and I am out of food.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

Dahling, you and I should have a scotch night sometime! I'd feel almost embarrassed inviting [livejournal.com profile] pir to one, though...his least impressive bottle is more impressive than anything I've ever had.
