Yesterday I stopped off at Windsor Button after work to look for the things I needed for my little secret project. Now, I didn't know what these things were really called. I didn't know what they looked like. I'd never used them. I didn't know what they were supposed to be used for normally. But I don't think they had them there. Must look elsewhere, or try to find something else useable. dee_cee, do you remember the real name for the items we discussed in the car on the way back from A.C. Moore? If so, e-mail me.

Anyway, a very nice evening was had afterwards. I was finally introduced to Eddie Izzard. I'd only heard quotes of his before that made me giggle. The whole routine I saw was a riot. And...am I crazy to think he's kinda sexy in all that makeup and leather pants and shiny shirt? I guess it's because he manages to do all that without looking feminine, somehow.

On the way home last night I got into a cab with what had to be the most talkative cabbie in the city. Oy. He told me stories about getting jumped in "Dawchestah" and defending himself with a knife. Odd fellow.

Tonight will be crafty night. I have stuff to make! Yay! I will probably also start moving books around to make my apartment a bit neater. We'll see what I have time for. And then after today, there's just Friday, and then...VACATION!

Yeah, spent a few years in the voice program at UD (Delaware). I failed out for several reasons, not the least of which was I thought I was a bass, my primary voice teacher thought I was a tenor.

Hmmm. For myself, I am mostly an alto, but I got stuck in tenor in my high school chorus for a lot of songs because there weren't enough boys.

I'm jealous of Diamanda Galas, who has a four-octave range and can sing bass through soprano.

Umm....I start at bass and my natural voice ends somewhere high tenor, then my falsetto goes from mid-tenor to well above reasonable listening range for sopranos. I know my natural voice is well over two octaves, add the unnatural falsetto, and I make most female singers very jealous. If I only had the nice quality across my whole range that I do up in the falsetto, I would be a professional singer now. Alas, no-one wants a singer with a poor memory for words, no rythm, and a graveled low range.

It's actually on my "to buy sooner or later" list. In the meantime, the plain one suffices. I recently learned, though, that a very mean person can immobilize you by snagging it with his teeth while kissing you. All you can do is go "ahh! leh eee oh!"
