My life as a hamster
Sep. 24th, 2003 12:45 pmDon't ask me where that subject came from. As I wrote it, I started to picture myself running in one of those little wheels...
Anyway, my life. I'm doing better than a former professor of mine. David Brudnoy, a journalism professor at BU, has been living with AIDS for years now. It's ravaged his immune system, but he's been fairly healthy since I first met him. Just now, though, he sent out an e-mail to his current and former students that he's been diagnosed with a rare, fast-growing, metastatic cancer. It's really sad. We weren't all that close, but he was one of my favorite professors. Good man, good teacher, really made you think. At least this is treatable. I hope he'll beat it. My hopes aren't high, but I'm praying for him.
Anyway, as far as my personal life goes...things are looking up. It's funny. When you have troubles in a relationship, it's wonderful to be able to really talk to your partner. I'm lucky to have that ability. But it's also nice to be able to talk openly with other people involved. It's nice when they're your friends, and you feel like you can trust them and share with them. I consider myself lucky to have found these new friends, even if there are some complications and entanglements involved. Y'all--or youse guys--are great people. :) Pea, thanks for letting me vent. I will post another entry soon about the doings on Friday. I know there are people invited who aren't on my friends list. Would anyone who knows those people let them know what's going on for me? Thanks, everyone!!!
