I love short weeks and long weekends!

I am taking Friday off as a short notice day from work, to save my parents the trouble of driving me back home or to the train after Thanksgiving dinner. I'll be staying with them from tonight through Saturday, probably returning sometime Saturday afternoon or early evening, depending on what I want and need to do back here in the city.

Anyone have ideas for fun stuff to do on Saturday night? I will be missing pir's get-together Friday, thus depriving myself of non-familial socialization until Sunday night. I can't go out drinking Saturday, but would be up for other amusement. Movies? Coffee? Dinner? Knitting?

I skipped dance last night due to a sore throat, a sore shoulder, and a need to get packed. I hope I'm not getting sick.

So I'm starting to think about testing the waters in the dating pool again sometime soon. I have a boyfriend and two other guys with whom I already share a mutual interest, but all are far away. Having only one local person to date is just leaving me with too many boring weekends. I am finding myself talking to the cat far too often on Friday nights. :) There's one guy on OKCupid I'm thinking of writing to...some people I know know him, and like him. Not sure if he's poly or not, though...that might be a problem. I've seen what happens when I date guys who don't consider themselves poly. Either they start hurting and leave, or they find someone who wants a monogamous relationship and drop me like a hot potato in favour of her, thinking it won't bother me. Anyway, I will probably give it a shot and write him, unless one of the people I know who knows him can give me a good reason to avoid him. lindalee was thinking of writing him too. We have the same taste in men. :)

Ok, enough random musings for now. Work beckons.

re: not feeling well - take care. there are a couple of nasty colds going around (speaks she who is still recovering from one).

i'm free saturday. i'll be in south/western MA that morning, but back in town sometime, depending on when i need to be here. i'll have the cell phone, so you can call if you want.

yeah - dating (or whatever) gets way more interesting when you don't know for sure what people are wired for. and sometimes you're too busy figuring out if the person is cool and worth spending time with to bring up minor little (hah!) qualifiers like "if we get serious you are not allowed to get jealous of my primary, or think that i'm going to fall for you enough to dump him, or get pissy when you realize i'm still going to spend more of my time with him (if possible)"

i feel your pain, because sometimes bringing something up along these lines (and having it not pan out) shifts the dynamic for all time and makes them think of you as "someone who wants to sleep with me" as opposed to "someone who's cool to talk to and hang out with".

oh well. you just can't win sometimes :-) sort of like the plans i was mentioning to you in Pir's, um, whatever the hell that little room on the 2nd floor is with the mini-fridge, about trying to organize the birthday party where i go down on as many women as i have years on earth. good idea, but logistically never going to work, and less likely the older i get. but still ,i think, a worthy goal. don't you ?

Oh, DEFINITELY a worthy goal! I can't help but approve of a goal like that. :) Personally, it's not a goal I'd have, but hey, I could always try it with men. Er, should be while I'm still young. :)
