Ok, so I just gave Zuma's a call. There is now a reservation there under my first name for 7:30pm Friday evening. I made it for 14 people, which I think was the total number that are likely to show up, or have said they think they might. If some people tell me it's a no go, I can just call the restaurant and decrease the number with them.

Yay! I'm so excited. I can't remember the last time I really got to be with so many people I like for my birthday. Seriously, the closest I've had in years to a birthday party was last year at the winter Flea, which kinda sucked as some of my friends were in rotten moods (not their fault, of course) and about half of them kept running away after I saw them for a few seconds, due to the sheer number of people they knew there. This will be such a nice change. :)

It's a little pathetic that I'm this excited about it, I know, but it's just been so long since I had a good birthday! And there are people likely to be there who I haven't seen in ages, too. :)

So, witchyspyce, tigira, and anyone else who wants to meet up early...where should we go for drinks?

I'll be there! BJ too. Would I also be able to bring a friend you haven't met if he ends up visiting me? He's a sweetheart, I have mentioned him before (my friend Nate.) I don't know if he's going to come, it's very last minute plans (I said come visit me, I didn't know he'd try to take come right away; but I didn't want to say no, and now with the snow I have no idea . . .)

Hm...that would mean 2 more people...what I'll do is wait until tomorrow afternoon and see if anyone cancels. If 2 people cancel I don't need to do anything. If none or just one cancel, I will call and tell them I need two more people there.

All celebrations of another year on Earth must be with full pomp, whether we ask people to plan it for us (my route, because dammit I plan everything else but my own bday), or plan it ourselves (like witchyspyce and tisana).

I have not had a birthday celebration in many years, either. Well, sorta. In Wausau, I was on the JC's, and we hosted the 4th of July celebration. I got a free beer in the beer tent, but that's about it. I usually spent the rest of my birthday in the treasurer's office.

And for my 30th birthday, I went off and did my own thing. I got a suite at the Holiday Inn, went to see Miss Saigon and Into the Woods and another small production in Minneapolis, went shopping, and did whatever I wanted (because on my 29th, people were pissed that I wanted to do things that weren't what they wanted to do, and tried to make me feel bad about it.)

Other than that I haven't really had a birthday thing in years.
