The bookcase of holding!
Mar. 29th, 2004 08:44 amHuzzah!
I now have a nice new bookcase! I bought an unfinished pine one yesterday, and was so greatly enthused that I just *had* to sand it and put a cherry stain on it last night as soon as I got it home. It looks great. I'd like to put a coat of polyurethane on it, but my roommate complained about the smell of the stain, and about the cold when I had to keep the windows open for ventilation. Grr. I could wait until he spends a weekend away for Easter, but that would delay putting the books onto the shelf. Eh, fuck it. I can always take the books off and do it some other time.
I also bought some stackable storage drawers which will make my life ever so much easier. All my yarn and needles fit in one drawer, as well as my spinning stuff. My candlemaking supplies fit into another, with room left over for finished candles. The third drawer will be all the beads and stuff my grandmother had, which can be used for various art projects. I can also add another couple of drawers on top, should I decide I need them. Hell, maybe I could put all my herbs and essential oils in one. Hmm...very exciting. Yes.
The evening was nicely rounded out by watching an hour of the Simpsons with Billy and Jason, getting some good cuddle time with the latter. He even brought me two lovely (non-Reese's) peanut butter cups. Mmm.
Oh, and I bought a present for Kilt-Boy too. Not a sheep, but I couldn't resist when I saw it. :)
