Ok, so like I said, I changed my mind and decided to get a desktop from Dell. We use Dells at work pretty frequently, and they seem to work well. I want to get the Dell Dimension B110.

Details:

* Intel Celeron D Processor 330 (2.66GHz, 533 FSB)
* XP Home
* 1 GB RAM (an upgrade from 512 MB)
* 160 GB hard drive
* 16X CD/DVD burner w/ double layer write capability
* Floppy drive (makes it easier for me to transfer files from my old laptop)
* 17" flat panel monitor
* Keyboard and mouse

And pierceheart has speakers I can have. :)

There's a $50 rebate deal now, and free shipping, so with all this and a $24 handling charge, it will cost me a total of $703, buying directly from Dell! :D

I think I should order it sometime this week.

[edit: I just noticed that the $50 rebate and free 17" flat panel monitor deal ends TOMORROW. Eeek. No more indecision I order this thing by the end of the day.]

YAY! I ordered my new computer.

I'm having it shipped to pierceheart because I am never home during shipping hours, and having it shipped to work would make it a hassle to get home. It should arrive between 1/19 and 1/23.

I'm totally psyched about this. I'm going to name it Kaylee, I think, after the naturally-good-with-machines-and-very-chipper girl on Firefly.
