Weekend stuff and today
Jul. 31st, 2006 09:55 amFriday night's anniversary celebration was full of pros and cons.
Pro:
pierceheart cooked me an amazingly delicious Armenian meal, and the cookbook he used is now sitting on my shelf. It's awesome!
Con: The terrible weather made me decide not even to bother finding out if Shakespeare on the Common was cancelled. I assumed it was, what with the thunder, lightning, and downpours.
Pro: We got to see The Lady in the Water instead, which was pretty good.
Con: During the movie, poor
pierceheart was shivering uncontrollably. Turned out he'd come down with a high fever. He's not QUITE so bad symptom-wise now, but it may end up being strep. Which means I might get it, and just in time for Stones.
I made two breads this weekend. Both were beer breads made with barleywine. One was a quickbread and one was a yeasted bread. I didn't try the yeasted one, but it LOOKED phenomenal, and the quickbread was delicious. I will have to bake bread more often. Beer breads are especially tasty.
One of my interviews was moved to today, instead of tomorrow. I had a message on my work voice mail from 5:15 on Friday (after I'd left) telling me about this. I'm just glad it's the one for which I'm LEAST concerned with formality, since I'm not wearing a suit! I'll wear one for the interviews tomorrow, though, and bring comfy clothes to change into for the drive after work.
Tonight I pack for Stones. No, I didn't get any of that done over the weekend. But I should be able to swing it just fine. Gods, I hope I don't get sick. And I hope
pierceheart gets better soon. At this time two days from now, we'll be on the road from Connecticut to Pennsylvania! I'm psyched. :) STONES! YAY!
