So today my news screening at work turned up some news by chance that made me go SQUEEE!

MCKELLEN'S OTHER FANTASY

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) -- Sir Ian McKellen, best known for playing Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, has signed on for another fantasy.

He will voice the narrator role in Stardust, whose cast includes Claire Danes, Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Production wrapped in the fall. McKellen is recording his part during post-production before Stardust's July 27 release date via Paramount Pictures.

The film centres on a young man who promises his beloved he will retrieve a fallen star by venturing into the Faerie realm, where he encounters witches, goblins, gnomes, talking animals and evil trees.

Matthew Vaughn directs from an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel, which was published a year after the story debuted in 1997 as a four-issue DC Comics miniseries.

McKellen, a two-time Oscar nominee for his roles in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and Gods and Monsters, appeared in two of the biggest hits of 2006: The Da Vinci Code and X-Men: The Last Stand.

State of the Seed

First off, I must start with this:

Two years, lots of changes, lots of love, and it keeps getting better. Happy anniversary, dahveed76! *smooch*

It's grey and rainy out there today, and it's Monday. I'm in a good mood, though. I slept pretty badly last night, waking up several times due to being either too warm or in an uncomfortable position. Meh. Next time I remember to turn the heat down before going to bed. I also forgot that pierceheart was getting up early again, and thought the alarm that went off at 5am was mine, not his. It was hard to sleep again after that, and I'm not sure I did.

But I wore my new Uggs today, giving them a rain test-drive. They're cozy and dry. And I started with a weight-loss group in my office. I'm not doing the competition they have going, but I'm going to lose some damn weight. Doing well today so far, though tonight and tomorrow night I'm going out for dinner and indulging a bit (anniversary with dahveed76, then my birthday dinner with pierceheart.) I'm looking forward to both of those dates very much!
