Oy, what a weekend.

Don't get me wrong--it was great. It was also exhausting, though. Saturday afternoon, pierceheart and I drove down to RI. We hung out with my mom for a little while, then headed into Providence to meet up with j4yx0r and my_buried_heart at Trinity Brewhouse. Hugs were given and received and food and beer were consumed with glee. We then went over to see the Improv Jones show, and as a result will never think of monsters under the bed in the same way again. Back to Trinity for more booze, and then over to Haven Brothers for a late-night nosh. What better place for a late-night nosh than the oldest diner in America? We hung out on the steps of the courthouse for a while afterwards, while j4yx0r played guitar. We got back to my parents' house at about 3am and went to bed.

All too soon, we were up again. We met up with j4yx0r and my_buried_heart again to head back up to Boston. Dim sum started our day very nicely. Then we hung out at the Museum of Science for the rest of the day. We saw the lightning show and an Omni presentation on the Galapagos islands. Very fun. Dinner was at another beer joint, naturally: Sunset. The waiter was an idiot, but we had a great time. I should post pictures soon to show the array of glasses on our table. By the time we got out of there, it was after 10. We went back to my place, had a little good scotch, and bid adieu to the Californian duo. Then we crashed. Hard.

Yesterday was spent in good ol' Memorial Day stuff: grilling and gardening. I worked in the garden while pierceheart tinkered with his grill and smoked up a couple chickens. I made potato salad, cole slaw, and corn on the cob to go with it...but no beer.

So yeah, it was a great weekend, but I've been feeling a little off-kilter since Sunday with coughing (not so much anymore), sore throat (still there) and an achy tiredness (pretty bad now). If it gets worse I'll take tomorrow off. Right now, I just want to curl up and go back to bed. Oook.

Ok, so that little experiment called "going to work this morning" was a complete flop. I do not feel any better than I did this morning. I feel worse. I just re-checked my temperature (it was normal this morning), and I appear to have a slight fever of 99.2. Ah, ok. So I really am sick. Meh.

Gonna take some drugs and curl up on the couch for a while with some tea and a book. Then, food. Appetite is still there.

I appear to have lost my Palm Pilot. It was an old model that I got for free from my mom when she upgraded, but it was very useful. I've looked all over: in all my bags, in the pockets of my coats, in various places in my room...all unsuccessfully. I've been missing it for about a week or so now. Something like that. First, I went digging in my bag for it but couldn't find it right away. I figured it was buried and lost patience. Then I went looking for it again but couldn't find it. I assumed it must be somewhere in my house and didn't worry, but I haven't seen any sign of it. Now I'm thinking it must be gone. :(

I want to get a new one. Part of me wants to just go to Staples now, even though I'm still not feeling great even after ibuprofen. But I'm wondering if it might be a better idea to go on eBay or something. I don't want to spend over $100 on a PDA. I also don't need bells and whistles: just something that is a good organizer, since that's what I really use it for. Planner, lists, memos, stuff like that. Is the Z22 (cheapest current model) decent for that? Or should I really try to find something else, maybe on eBay? I have no need for a spiffy thing that will store tons of photos (or any, really), play music, act as a phone, or connect to things with bluetooth or what have you.

Edit: Looks like there's ONE feature, just one, that I wanted, that I can't get on the Z22: it's not Word-compatible. Shit. Looks like I won't be getting that. But the next model up is TWICE the price at $199. Fuck that. If it were a $30-40 difference I'd get it in a minute, but that's ridiculous. Jesus, I really wish mine hadn't gone missing! I'll see what I can find UNused on eBay, I think, for less money. No, I won't get a warrantee, but those are usually extremely limited unless you pay extra anyway.
