Happy birthday, ivyluna!

Stuff

1. Had my first Power Lunch today! N is very, very cute. Very bright. Learned to read at 3, seems like he might be the type who's bright enough to be impatient with school and has a hard time staying focused as a result. He liked the book I read him about a dragon, though, and we're now going to be working on a chapter book about kids who travel back to ancient Egypt. I think that might hold his attention well. He is dead certain he wants to be a doctor, too, so I will try to find some good, challenging kids books about doctors and medicine. He was lamenting the fact that he can't bring home books from the library "to read in his head" until tomorrow. Such a cute kid.

2. Appaloosa is coming out Friday! Squee! Must see it. Even if Viggo has facial hair that I don't like in it. I like his acting too, you know. And his hands. And his voice. And his butt. And I also like Ed Harris and Jeremy Irons. Wow, with a cast like that, this should be a good flick.

3. Thursday night will be the first time I cook an actual real dinner (as opposed to making party food, heating up leftovers, or making one dish for a potluck) since...last Thursday night. o_O Damn. No wonder I've gained weight.

4. At least I avoided the bagels and cream cheese someone brought in to work today. Yay, me.
