badseed1980: (neubauten)
I was just coming down the stairs after a meeting and I ran into this guy who was wearing an Einsturzende Neubauten tee shirt! I complimented him on it and mentioned that EN is my favorite band. He told me I was the third person in the building today to recognize the shirt. (It's one of the ones with no words, just their little Toltec pictograph logo.)

Do I have cool people working with me, or what? :D

I'm going to my parents' place tonight. It'll be good to see them. It's been a while! I haven't seen them since early April, I think: the weekend of my first date with J. And I hardly spent much time with them that weekend! When I told J I'd be in RI tonight and tomorrow afternoon, he suggested going out tonight and spending the night at his place. I felt a little bad about it, but I said no because I want to spend some quality time with the parents because it's Father's Day weekend and because I haven't seen them much lately. I did say he was welcome to drop by after work tonight to say hello, though. I figure that's a fair compromise. And I told him I'd come down to RI some weekend and spend more time with him.

I have a bento for lunch with octodogs in it. Cuteness for lunch! Yay!

My nose is freezing. Why is it so cold in here?

I have no idea if I'll keep this up, but someone on my friends list just posted a haiku, and it gave me the idea of writing a daily haiku. So here's one:

Barren rocky shore
One flower lifts up its head
Defying the wind

Inspired by a windy beach on Inis Mor, which looked like the surface of the moon, all pitted rocks. There was a tiny pink flower there, though, growing up out of the rocks all alone. I have a picture of it in my photo album at home.

Future haiku might be serious or silly. :)
