Phoneless

Funny that just before I go to post this, I see that someone on my friends list just posted pretty much the same thing.

I left my phone at home today, so if anyone needs to reach me, use e-mail. Unless you're pierceheart and you have my work number.

Things and stuff, random

1. I finished the little lacy scarf I was making, just as a between-projects-project-of-instant-gratification. Granted, I took some time off from knitting in there, so the gratification wasn't instant. It's cute, though short. More an accessory than a warmer. I like it. I finished it on the bus this morning and blocked it on my cube wall at work, with pushpins! Ingenious, no? :D Those of you on Ravelry can see it there.

2. It was cold this morning! I wore long pants and even a jacket. My scarf did not go amiss. I love the fact that fall is in the air!

3. Last night, I watched the first anime I've really LIKED. I saw Castle in the Sky once and thought, "the steampunkishness is pretty neat, but...meh. Anime. Just rubs me the wrong way." I saw an episode or two of Cowboy Bebop and thought, "this is a pretty cool premise, actually. I'd like it if it weren't anime." But last night, I saw My Neighbor Totoro, and while the stuff I don't like about anime was still kind of there (thought not too bad), I didn't care because I couldn't stop going, "OMG, HOW CUTE! SQUEE! I WANT TO SQUISH AND CUDDLE HIM!" :) Must knit a Totoro. There are numerous patterns.

4. Dinner last night was at Sagra. Duck ragu over their pillowy gnocchi. Mmm. I'm glad they haven't succumbed to the curse of that location.

5. Amazon is sending me knitting books! Yay! Soon I will have all the info I need to design a sweater. I would really like to plan a trip to Webs (or maybe just Seed Stitch in Salem, but I really want to check out Webs) to ogle and grope the yarn I'm considering for this project, just to see if I really like it, and to see what the colors look like in real life.
