Notes, randomly.
Mar. 8th, 2010 04:28 pm* It's a gorgeous day. I took a walk to Central Square and back. Looked at some makeup at CVS. Didn't buy anything.
* I went to a seed swap on Sunday. I now have Thai basil, sunflower seeds, zucchini seeds, and a few other things I didn't have before. It was also a great opportunity to hang out with friends and see all their cute children.
* Friday night and Saturday, I spent with my parents. We hung out with them, had lunch with them at an Indian place, and visited my Mémère and Pépère. It was nice. I ate too much, but didn't drink too much. I'm getting better at visiting the parents, apparently. :)
* I have dance tonight, which is good. BUT, I seem to be developing a truly awful block on shimmy-layered hip circles. Seriously. It's turning into a source of anxiety and deep frustration for me. I start feeling upset when I think about them. That's how bad it is. Maybe I ought to have a drink before class tonight, to see if that will calm me down about it! As it is, I seem to turn into a wooden statue every time I attempt them. Shit.
* My lunch today was nom-tastic. I had Hungry Girl's baked falafels (minus the fresh cilantro and parsley, which I didn't have, but plus a little coriander and dill), a little bit of tahini mixed with lemon juice to dip them in, and some kale sautéed with diced red peppers, garlic, lemon juice, and salt. Sooooo good. I love kale.
* Speaking of food: OMG,
lindalee's pickled nasturtium seed pods are SO TASTY. They are addictive little nibbles, a little bigger than capers and usable in many of the same dishes. I threw some into a salad last night, and had to restrain myself from snacking on the rest of the jar. YUM.
* This coming weekend, I am finally getting a haircut. I remembered on Saturday to call and make the appointment. It's about time, I know. I think I'll go ahead and get a couple inches or so off. I LOVE my long hair, but I want it healthy, too. At least I'm using a really good shampoo and conditioner now (Aubrey Organics honeysuckle rose for brittle hair). That should help keep it in good shape.
