Making a spectacle of myself
Aug. 13th, 2010 12:06 pmI just went to the eye doctor today for the first time in about seven years. It was interesting. I found out that my left eye has astygmatism. That is, for all of you normal-visioned people who've never had to deal with this stuff, that the curvature of my lens is fucked up. Not severely or anything, but enough that a correction for astygmatism in my glasses would make a significant difference. My current pair of glasses does not correct for astygmatism. Also, it is underpowered for me. I need more correction than I did seven years ago. I am wearing my current glasses right now, because I want to get myself accustomed to wearing glasses more often, I think. I probably SHOULD wear them more often. I would squint less. I'm just not used to seeing myself in glasses. Hmm.
For the record: ( Me without glasses )
( Me with glasses, excuse the glare )
