Wardrobe reduction!
Feb. 6th, 2005 06:50 pmToday I got rid of about 2/3 of my wardrobe. I chucked a bunch of stuff in the trash. I put a whole bunch more in a charity bin. There are, however, a few items left for which I would really like to find new homes. Some of them were too expensive for me to be comfortable just giving them away. Some are just really cool, and I'd rather see someone I know have them if it would make them happy. So without further ado, the available items:
FOR SALE OR SWAP OF COMPARABLE VALUE IN MY SIZE:
Gorgeous black evening gown in fluid matte fabric, low in front and back. Clear and silver beaded trim. Sheer gauzy train-like back bottom. I'm SO sad to see this baby go, but I just can't wear it anymore, and getting it taken in might be difficult to impossible. I only wore it once. There are a couple of TINY holes in the sheer bit at the bottom, but honestly, they are not noticeable when the gown's being worn. It's a size 14. It cost me $180. Make me an offer if you want it.
Red velvet corset, size XL, bought at Hootenanny. It has large safety pins in a row up the front where a busk would be. Light plastic boning on sides and zipper in the back. Provides good shaping and plenty of lift to the bust when it fits properly, but not as much waist reduction as a "real" corset. Many of you have probably seen me wearing this. I wore it at Arisia, but it was really too big then. Great alone or over a top. $25 or best offer.
Dark grey 3-piece suit, size 12. Consists of jacket, trousers, and shell top. Really cute and good for interviews! Will fit a busty 12, I can vouch for that, but also less busty types. $40 for the whole thing, or best offer. Let me know if you only want 1-2 pieces, and we'll work something out.
FREE TO A GOOD HOME:
Black vinyl corset, size XL, bought at Hootenanny. This one has seen more wear than the red velvet one, which is why it's free. Still has some use left in it, though. Thick cord tie in the front, zipper in back makes it easy to put on and take off. Light plastic boning on sides provides shaping without serious waist reduction. Many of you have probably seen me in this at ManRay.
Burgundy and black patterned stretch velvet skirt, size L or XL (size tag gone), will fit a good range of sizes. Worn maybe only half a dozen times, but I didn't pay for it, so I won't ask for any money for it. Cute with a corset or something for a club night, or with a nice fancy top for special occasions. Comfy as fuck.
Black velvet and sheer fabric top, size L or XL (size tag gone). It's sheer at the bust, so could be worn over a full-coverage black bra. Pretty off-the-shoulder neckline, elastic and comfy. Nifty drapy sheer cuffs on the sleeves. If anyone remembers, it's the shirt I wore at
Burgundy evening gown, size 13. Sheer on top (fully lined) and satin on the bottom. Cowl neck. REALLY pretty for fancy occasions. Very flattering. Never worn except to try it on. Why is it free? It only cost me $15 at Filene's Basement, so I don't see much point in charging for it! I thought it was an amazing find, and it was, but I never had an occasion to wear it before it got to be too big for me.
Comment or e-mail me if you have any questions or if you want the stuff!
