Monday already? Dear lord, WHY? And where's a caffeine I.V. when you need one?
Friday, I had lunch with
pierceheart who was kind enough to bring me the cell phone I'd forgotten at home. We got together after work, too--dinner at Boston Beerworks (and a nummy cask conditioned pale ale) was followed by a viewing of Sin City. Gory. Good. I wanted the girls' outfits for ManRay. *sigh* Only thing that would have made it better? Some hardcore Tom Waits ("Goin' Out West" or something) on the soundtrack. Especially when Marv was on the screen.
Saturday morning was pleasant. Being out of coffee, we headed into Davis Square for breakfast. Since Diesel did not offer any food that included meat, Morgan was not satisfied. We went to the Burren instead--he had Irish, I had an omelette with a side of sausage. Yummy indeed. They do a GOOD omelette. We then headed to Porter Square to do some grocery shopping. On the way, we ran into a little old lady who'd just had her hair done and forgot her umbrella. She wanted to share mine as we walked. She insisted on holding it herself. Eventually, when creeping along at a crouch became too irritating, I gave her the umbrella and just walked along with
pierceheart, getting soaked. That night, I cooked the BEST CHICKEN SOUP EVAR for dinner. We had to go for a walk afterwards because we were so full. We ogled houses and walked in the park, and found a great little wine shop and a place that sells Belgian truffles. Long talk that night, afterwards, much needed.
Sunday was lazy to start with.
pierceheart and I planted some seeds. We will have some lovely herbs, flowers, and chiles soon. Yay! We actually have a little patch of ground outside the apartment that we're going to turn into a real live garden. Ooooo. Then the boy left for class, and I headed into Harvard Square to go on a yarn hunt that did not get me what I wanted. I met FC for dinner at an Indian place in Central Square. They had Masala Dhosa, which I like, but the coconut chutney was disappointing, and they didn't give us a condiment tray with our naan. Bah. It was fairly good, though. We went to his place after for peppermint tea and lots of good conversation. I find it amusingly serendipitous that we met up again after such a long time, and in such a random way. I'm glad I'm getting to know him. He's a very cool guy. I got home late and found that
pierceheart had not yet returned. I went to bed, slept an hour, and was awakened by the boy slipping into bed beside me. Alas, nice though it was to see him, I couldn't get back to sleep until about 1:30. Ugh. Now I am tired. But very happy.
