3) American Beauty
4) The Piano
5) one of the LOTR films.
6) Monty Python, Holy Grail.
7) I know I've seen it... can't place it.
8) The Princess Bride.
10 Again, I've seen it but can't remember the title without cheating and going to imdb.

Very good. I honestly don't know which LOTR flick that's from, but I love them all.

9 is the Chaplin biopic Johnny Depp did, if I'm not mistaken - isn't it called 'Chaplin'? And I think 7 is Man from UNCLE.

LOL...no, and no. :P

9 *is* a Depp flick, but one of the more obscure ones.

7 is definitely not the Man from UNCLE. I've never seen that one.

Ohhhh.. is it the one where he plays JM Barrie?

And I know I heard about a film in which Bjork plays a single mother or somesuch, which looks like no 2(? damn LJ stealing my pictures), but I don't recall the name.

No, it's not that one. Not as recent.

And yes, you're on the right track with #2!

It's RotK because it is after he falls off the cliff, is basically half dead at the water's edge . . .

#10 is under rated. I don't understand why critics hated it so much.

Hunh. Must be Scarlet Letter then. Unless you'll accept "some period thing that I didn't see because I was mortally offended by the casting"

Nope. And it's not your typical costume drama, either. [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart got it right.

I liked Dead Man, although it's not my favorite Depp film. I haven't seen many (if any) other Jim Jarmusch movies, but I hear that's his style...kinda odd. Other than that, I only recognised 3,4,5,7,which are all among my favorites, too.

I loved Dead Man. The odd, dreamlike/nightmarish quality it has is SO up my alley. :)
