Things 'n' stuff
Aug. 18th, 2005 09:36 amLast night
pierceheart and I went to a mead tasting at the Sunset Grille and Tap (after I was sure that
dee_cee and
erik_j_meyer had some good strong lads to help move their mattress.) We ate dinner there first (including gooey desserts. Damn PMS!) and had a flight each. Then we proceeded to the rear of the restaurant to meet the head of Redstone Meadery, a company that is a VAST improvement on the standard of nationally available commercial meads. We chatted about homebrewing, about odd mead flavours (roasted garlic mead, anyone?), and about how to go pro with the brewing. We met a dude in a kilt who brews, so obviously he and
pierceheart had a lot to discuss. :) I won a big funky purple Redstone tee-shirt in a raffle. We tried light, sparkling apricot and black raspberry meads, juniper berry honey wine, white grape pyment, and a lovely lovely braggot. It was a good evening. We then went back to the boy's place for much-needed sleep. Oy, was I tired. I managed only a few pages of my book before my eyes started shutting, and almost fell asleep snuggling with the boy before I woke up enough to roll over into proper sleeping position.
Tonight, we will go to pay a friend a visit, then go back to my place for nummy leftover turkey soup. Soup is one of those things that's actually better as leftovers. It just gets better and more flavourful.
Now to face the fact that I have to do my boring and icky work. Blah.
