Ring...ring....
Oct. 21st, 2005 10:49 amI need me a new cell phone. I've been doing some research online, and it's driving me nuts! I found this one phone, the Sony Ericsson Z500a, which is in my price range, is a flip phone with an internal antenna (i.e., one that won't break off), and has a camera and video recorder. It has great battery life too. Reviews of it on CNet, though, are mixed. Some people say it's amazing and works great. Some say it's the worst phone they've ever used.
Out of the other options in my price range, the best seems to be the (free) Nokia 6010. It's totally basic, but apparently (according to CNet reviewers) performs very well. No camera, and it's a candy bar (which I don't like as much).
I totally am having trouble deciding. I would love to get the SE, but what if I get it and it freezes up on me or doesn't get calls sometimes? That would suck. But what if I get the Nokia, and find out that having a candy bar phone is a real pain in the ass, and I miss having a camera? The long and short of it is that people reviewing the SE gave it a LOT of pros and a LOT of cons. The Nokia seems to have only a few of each.
Has anyone here who has Cingular wireless had any experience with getting a new phone, finding out it sucks, and getting it replaced? Also, is there anyone here who uses a SE phone on Cingular wireless? (I know a lot of Nokia users). Anyone who uses either of those two particular models I mentioned? Any advice? I really really need a phone, and soon.
