Zee time, she flies, hein?
Nov. 30th, 2005 08:23 amWow. A couple weeks ago was my friend D's birthday. D is someone I dated (long-distance) for about a year, and who I loved very much. I fully intended, at one point, to move down to the DC area to be with him. We broke up when he got sent to Kuwait, because another entire year without being able to see each other (or even communicate much) just wasn't going to work. It hurt a lot, but there wasn't really anything else we could do.
Anyway, I tried calling D on his birthday and got someone else's cell phone for some reason. I e-mailed him instead, and didn't hear from him until today. Today, he told me he's just gotten engaged to the girl he's been dating since he came back from Kuwait. Wow! I have to say, it's NICE seeing someone who I once loved and who I'm now friends with, in a HEALTHY relationship that's going really well. :) He's the first, I think.
So yeah, he's getting married in August. I think it would be kind of amusing if the first time I see him in years is at his wedding. Of course, I don't know that I'll be invited (and won't assume), but if I am, I'll certainly go. He's one of the good ones.
Now to e-mail some other exes who I miss talking to. Gods only know what's going on with them. :)

Date: 2005-11-30 03:51 pm (UTC)Sounds like that third sentence should read ".....and who I love very much."
No harm in claiming the love we shelter within our hearts.
Even when things don't work out, love doesn't just walk out the door without leaving a forwarding addy.
Hope he invites you to the wedding----the cake icing is so fun to lick! :)
