I've been stalking this guy here at work all morning, trying to get in touch with him to ask him for some things my supervisor wants. First, he took forever to even get in. I kept getting up from my desk to go see if he was in yet. Then, I got up to check one time and his computer and coat were in there, but he wasn't! He snuck by me. I kept checking, and he snuck by me again to get into his office, shut the door, and get on the phone. Oy. I didn't want to interrupt him, so I just kept checking to see when he would get off the phone. No dice. Finally I knocked on the door and asked him to come see me when he had a minute. He will do so. Sheesh. No wonder supervisor is going somewhat crazy working here! :)
Yesterday ended up being "Steak and a Rain Check Day" because I'm still sick. Steak was fucking good though. So were the roasted garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. Mmm.
Tonight,
pierceheart is going to his lodge meeting, so I will be hanging out with
geooogo for dinner. Sweet. We just need to find a place to go.
We really have to have a knitting night soon, though, all you knitting geeks. I just don't have any projects going on at the moment. I need to check out patterns and get supplies for my mom's slippers. They should be done in time for her to wear them around the house after her rotater cuff surgery, I hope. Poor mom. I'll have to put suede or something on the bottom so she doesn't wear 'em out.
Oh, good news! Last night when I got the mail, my last check from the old job was in there. This in and of itself is a good thing. What makes it even better is that they paid out all my accrued vacation!!! What with that, my Dell rebate, my income tax refunds, and my first direct deposit from PSG, I am actually FLUSH right now, more so than I have been in quite a long time. That's a bit of a relief. I'm not going to squander it or anything, but it's good to know that even if I don't get a high-paying job anytime soon, I can still pay my rent easily for a good while. YAY!
Not everything is fabulous in my life right now, but the good stuff is really good, and I have hope that the bad stuff can get better, one way or another. I feel oddly full of optimism and possibility. Must be the coming Spring.

Yeah. That really wouldn't go over so well.
(I am full of sillyness right now. I think it's the library fumes.)

What kind of food do you feel like having? Mexican? Indian? Japanese? Chinese? Vietnamese? American? Italian? Barbecue?

Date: 2006-03-15 09:42 pm (UTC)At times, being in that mom & pop restaurant full of Japanese families and tourists I feel that I am back in Japan. Japanese tourists frequent it and get the restaurant packed on the weekend nights, making impossible to dine. They even take pictures to take back home.
Toraya prices are a bit lower that the chic trendy places, but the sushi is SUPERIOR. The meals are average. Ah, they also use fresh ginger and a wasabi paste that is closer to the real thing than most other restaurants.
