Shiny factor of five million megaw00ts
Apr. 7th, 2006 09:00 amWow, last night was full of unexpected squee!
One my my belly dance classmates brought in a bedlah (bra & belt set) that she thought might fit me. She'd had it custom made, but it didn't fit her right and the maker wouldn't take it back. They also seriously undercharged her for it, so she was willing to sell it cheap. I tried it on and it fit me beautifully. I'll have to add some extra hooks to the bra back (it's a bit big) and do something with the straps to make them shorter, but that shouldn't be too hard even for my modest skills. It's covered in white irridescent sequins and silvery beads, and the fringe is opalescent clear beads and silver beads. It comes with a matching necklace. Total ice queen gorgeousness...for FIFTY BUCKS. And this is really a $300 costume. She's only worn it to try it on. I am totally in love with this fabulous shiny thing! That same classmate is also a seamstress (heh heh), and will be making trumpet skirts for most of the class, me included. Bright red velvet for me. Now I just need to find a bright red silk veil for a decent price.
Also, I got a text message from the boy last night that he was coming home. Apparently, they weren't required to stay in the field last night! So I got to go to Goffee with my boy and see a bunch of great people, and show off my shiny!
Tonight it's gonna be shabu-shabu in Chinatown. This is good. And now I must work. Without coffee, because work is out of sweeteners of any kind. After about 5 1/2 hours of sleep. Ook. Need sleep, or caffeine. Earl Grey, you just don't cut it.
