So, in spite of yesterday's depressive mood, some things were pretty ok.
Last night I got bummed about my lack of decent clothing and concurrent brokeness. Both of those things together really suck. I decided to stop at a couple of places on the way to Diesel, to see what I could find. Gap in Central Square didn't have a sale rack up, and the stuff that WAS on sale on the regular racks was still too expensive. And there really wasn't much I wanted to wear anyway. I also stopped at Goodwill in Davis. Found a few cute tops, but all were too tight in the boobs, and I found a skirt which was marked a size 6, but which didn't even come CLOSE to fitting me. Must have been old. The one thing I did find is totally useless for the office, but...it's a very short cherry-red kilt. For $3.99. YEAH, baby! That cheered me up a bit. I'm already hoping to find a place to wear it. :)
pierceheart met up with me at Goodwill, and told me that Diesel was dead, so we went home. He worked in the garden while I made dinner (which wasn't exactly as much of a triumph as Monday night's. Monday we'd had grilled lamb burgers with lemon-garlic-mint aioli, and grilled potatoes. Mmm.)
Tonight I have some errands to run in Boston, and then I will be going home to enjoy the remaining lamb burger. I'm also hoping to get a little work done around the house.
While I'm thinking about it, do any of you folks have suggestions for the best place to go camping for a weekend, within a few hours' drive of Boston?

Date: 2006-05-24 02:20 pm (UTC)Camping: Ogunquit is closer than Acadia, and only about 1.5-2 hours' drive. Also easier to get a campground near there, as it's less likely to be packed. Had a ginormous and impressive used bookstore on the road between the town proper and our campground, and the best breakfast diner ever, with strawberry butter. Yummy.

Date: 2006-05-24 02:31 pm (UTC)My mom and I used to camp in the area a few times when I was a kid, too...I think it was in Cape Neddick. Which amused me when I finally read Stephen King's "The Stand," as it was about the same time and place the story was began. ;p I'm a dork.
