2. Try ceviche, if you haven't already. I think you'd like it. Basically it's raw fish and scallops, marinated in citrus and spices. Totally yum. Casa Romero in Back Bay does it really well.

Date: 2006-05-31 02:37 pm (UTC)2. Try listening to this band that I really want to listen to as well. It's called Spottiswoode and his Enemies. Comparisons to Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, and David Bowie. AND a cute British lead singer. :) I think we'd both like these guys.

4. I like a lot of things about you, but let me say now that I like your writing, and your constant determination to Word Things the Right Way. I think that's something we share.
5. My clearest visual memory of you is probably the last time I was at Stones, and we were in the showers at the same time. I've found that seeing people naked when sexuality isn't part of the equation makes me feel like I'm seeing more of who they ARE. It's especially true with people I'm close to. Even when I'm distracted by trying to rig a bungee cord to keep the shower on so I don't have to keep pulling the chain. Oy, that's a pain in the butt.
6. A swan. They're not uber-delicate, but they look very graceful, and you can't tell that under the water they're paddling like mad. You manage to keep that kind of grace even when you're working your ass off to do so.
7. What are your general plans for your religious life now that all these changes are happening? Where do you go from here? Feel free to e-mail me about it if you don't want to get into it here.

5. I know what you mean. Naked people are more vulnerable in every way, and it'd be an interesting exercise to meet people for the first time while naked. Wonder how much BS we'd all cut through if we did?

7. I don't mind getting into some of it here.
General plans for religious life... I'm going to be forcibly solitary for a while, of course, but some of that will also be deliberate. I need some of that alone time to rebuild my inner life so that it does not include an "SO." I'll be doing a lot of gardening, if I can. Helps that Mom says the place is running a little wild right now, so I'll tackle that. I guess you could say that I'm going to be a something of a true hermit. :)
I'm not going to be shutting people out, though. Mom has offered to introduce me to some pagan/Wiccan friends of hers, which I'm gladly accepting. I'd like to scope out the community around Navasota to see where I'd fit in, if anywhere, and establish myself with them before offering myself as a teacher.

The good thing, though, is that if Texas is anything like other places I've been, with regard to festivals and such, people travel all the time. (I may even be doing my share of that.) 4. I like your enthusiasm when it's there. It isn't there all the time, but when it is, it's infectious. When you are enjoying yourself, it shows, and it makes the people around you enjoy themselves even more.

The prices are much better than they are at places like Cardullo's. I'll give you the name when I can remember it.

5. I think the first time we met was on the beach, on Independence Day 2003. But by then, it was too dark for me to really be able to see you.

4. I like the way you seem so secure in who you are. The way you carry yourself makes you a very attractive person. No wonder boys carry your stuff for you so willingly!
5. I remember meeting you at the Flea, and you were grouchy because your hair wasn't the colour you wanted it to be!
6. One of those nice big dogs with silky fur and a lot of personality who let people use them as pillows when they're feeling mellow, but are always up for playing.
