Happiness first:

1. Last night I ate excellent steak with my boy. I made a red wine vinegar and dijon mustard marinade with shallots, garlic, and thyme, and reduced it while I broiled the steak to make a sauce. We had it with asparagus and bulgur.
2. Boy decided I needed flowers when we were at the supermarket getting asparagus. There is now a vase of bright fuchsia and orange daisies in my house. Yay!
3. The garden flooded, but

pierceheart is a sweetie, and set up hoses to siphon off the water into a drain. Plants are safe!

News next:

Yesterday afternoon when I was at work, I got a phone call from a recruiter. She told me that she'd seen my resume (may have been on Monster, I don't know), and had a job opening she thought would be a great fit for my background. It's an HR assistant position at a large real estate firm downtown. Basically, I'd be assisting the Ops Manager for the office, focusing mostly on stuff like benefits administration, setting up training schedules, etc. She told me what the pay range was. The MINIMUM amount was about $5K more than I was making at CTC. Squee! So she asked if I wanted to come in and discuss the position. I said yes. She said the sooner the better, for the interview. This is where the need for a PocketMod comes in (mini paper organizer, which I am more apt to use as an organizer than I am to use my Palm as such).

And now, the OMG!:

I made the appointment for Monday. Can't do it today because I desperately need to do laundry or I'll have nothing to wear to work tomorrow. Can't do it tomorrow because she doesn't have time. Monday! Sure!

Monday is...dance class. Which I paid for in advance. Oops.

Monday is...also the day when

pierceheart is taking the LSAT. We'd agreed that we should go out together that night, both as a "yay, it's over!" and because it would be our last chance for a real date before he leaves for Wisconsin. Oops.

I ended up writing to my dance teacher and telling her I wouldn't be able to make dance on Monday. I'll go to the interview and meet up with my boy right after. Those things are more important by far.
