I woke up at some point last night with a charley horse in my right leg. It wasn't a really bad one, but it was there. My right leg's been sort of crampy all day now, in spite of periodic stretching. I know the heels aren't helping, but I have no work-worthy flats, and it's not like I'm doing a LOT of walking around.

I finished reading Sandman VII: Brief Lives at lunch. The more of those books I read, the more I love them. The Endless are such an amazing bunch of characters. Makes me want to have an excuse to dress up as Death again, and say "Peachy keen!"

In a few hours, I will be seeing [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart. Now, that IS peachy keen. :D

BE CAREFUL.

You may be leaning towards a gastrocnemius tear. It's a muscle in the calf that is terribly painful and once ripped takes up to a year to mend. If it's the back of you calf, let me know and I'll give you all the tips.

Actually, I know why it happened: it's because last night at dance, I was bouncing around on the balls of my feet for two hours (in a style called karsilima). I didn't get enough time to stretch out afterwards, either. It's already better than it was this morning. It just has that sort of "I'm too bunched up and tight" feeling a little bit.

Sounds about right. Wearing gel heel pads will help with that, as will runners stretches and no high heels. Jumping or being up on tiptoes is very bad for that.

Yeah. I've been doing stretches all day (which is why it's beginning to get better), and I plan to take off my heels to walk from the office to the T (as I did on the way here: I have Tevas with me). Maybe I'll get a bit of a leg-rub from the boy tonight, too. :)

The heating pads hunters use are cheap and effective at warming areas like that up too.

peachy keen!

Yeah, I get that Delightful Desire to do so, too. ;) Now I want to buy more of the graphic novels... *sigh*

Anyway: Yay for the return of Morgan!

I could never pull off Death. Maybe Delerium.

I keep intending to read those books...I've only ever managed a few of the stories. The art often trips me up.

Death's the only one I CAN pull off! All the others are male, blond-or-multicoloured, grotesque, or androgynous. :)

I did that for a party one year. Halloween '03, I think. I still have the ankh pendant and the tank top.

I did Destiny once, for a costume thing at the Northampton goth club. We had a bunch of the Endless as a group - I remember Death and I think Desire, and at least one person discussed for Destruction but I don't remember if he was willing to do it or not. I'm pretty sure we didn't have a Despair, but that's a rough costume to pull off. I vaguely think we had a Dream and a Delerium, but I'm not at all sure anymore - it was a long time back.

Sandman was my introduction to comic books. I absolutely loved them. I even have the Little Endless Death doll.

Curiously, I woke up *five* times last night with leg cramps. They were kinda nasty, I think they were associated with my new shoes...
