Today it the last day of my 4-day weekend. It's been a good one.

Friday night we drove down to Connecticut, and had dinner with the boy's parents. Saturday, we went to the beach.

pierceheart took the Sunfish out for a bit while I soaked up the sun. When he came back, he took me out on the boat. Wheeee! It was fun, being that close to the water. I've never been on a boat that small before, and it was exciting. Sunday, we went out to find me a new cell phone charger (of course, I found the missing old one when I came home). Then,

pierceheart's brothers came over. They're a pretty cool bunch. They were up for the wake and funeral of their great-uncle. The wake was odd. I'd never been to one. I'd never seen a dead body, either. I SO don't want my body to be the center of whatever funeral celebrations and mourning goes on after I die. It's a little creepy. Anyway, afterwards, we all ate dinner together. Then I stayed up late playing cards with the boy and two of his brothers. Got my ass kicked at Uno, and didn't do too badly at Hearts. The funeral on Monday was weird for me too, but I'm starting to get used to the whole Catholic mass thing, in terms of the order of stuff.

pierceheart and I hit the beach again for a little while afterwards, just sitting in the sun and wading in the water a bit.

The trip back was uneventful with the exception of some damned heavy rain in little bursts. We went straight to

wench33 and

clockwrk's party. Many good friends were seen, good drinks were drunk, good food was eaten, and a good time was had by all. We left early-ish, at about 10:30 or so. We were both pretty tired. I couldn't keep my eyes open past about 11:30.

Today I did a little damage control on the mess in my apartment, and then we came over to

pierceheart's place for some leftover pizza. Mmmmmmmmmm. Good brunch. Now we need to decide what to do for the rest of the day, so I'm gonna check some stuff out online. Fireworks tonight! W00t!
